Ishimizu Steamer Cloth 25cm x 25cm

The Ishimizu Steamer Cloth S is a 100% cotton cloth designed for use in traditional Japanese steamers and bamboo steamers. Placed at the bottom of the steamer, it prevents food from sticking to the surface and allows for easy removal once cooking is complete. The open weave cotton construction allows moisture to escape appropriately while absorbing excess water droplets, preventing them from falling back onto delicate foods. It is particularly well suited to chawanmushi — placed over the lid of the steamer, it allows steam to escape evenly while keeping condensation from dripping into the custard. The S size fits steamers of approximately 1 sho (1.8 liters).
Beyond steaming, the cloth is useful for draining vegetables — its absorbent cotton construction draws moisture away quickly and effectively. Care is simple: hand wash with a neutral detergent and dry in the sun.
