Tenugui, Sarashi & Steamer Cloths

Tenugui is a traditional Japanese cloth used in the kitchen primarily as an everyday drying towel, valued for its light, absorbent weave.

A sarashi is a bleached white towel or cloth that has a wide variety of uses in Japan. A kitchen sarashi is a towel used to keep your workspace sanitary and tidy. You may notice sushi chefs with a sarashi on the cutting board, as it is used to sanitize the work surface. This is especially important when working with raw ingredients. But the uses for a sarashi go beyond this, as the home cook will find these towels indispensable for drying blanched vegetables, washed parsley and cilantro and so much more.

Steamer cloths are used to line bamboo steamers, preventing food from sticking to the bamboo while allowing steam to pass through evenly. A morikatsu towel is another kitchen essential, typically used for wiping down surfaces or absorbing excess moisture during food prep.
