Suehiro Rubber Whetstone Base

The Suehiro Rubber Whetstone Base is a minimal, purpose-built holder designed to keep a whetstone stable and properly positioned during sharpening. The base sits beneath the stone and prevents movement — eliminating the need to grip or reposition mid-session, which allows full focus on angle and pressure instead.
The base is made from elastomer rubber in a split design, with two separate pieces that contact the stone at each end. There are no metal components of any kind. The all-rubber construction eliminates any chance of buildup that develops on metal fittings over time from prolonged exposure to water and whetstone slurry. The Suehiro Rubber Whetstone Base fits stones 150mm and longer, which covers the large majority of standard whetstones in common use.
