Ishimizu Steamer Cloth 45cm x 45cm

The Ishimizu Steamer Cloth M is a 100% cotton cloth designed for use in larger traditional Japanese steamers and bamboo steamers. At 450mm x 450mm, it accommodates a wider range of steamer sizes, making it the practical choice for larger cooking tasks. Placed at the bottom of the steamer, it prevents food from sticking and allows for easy removal once cooking is complete. The open weave cotton construction allows moisture to escape appropriately while absorbing excess water droplets, keeping them from falling back onto delicate foods. Like the S size, it works equally well placed over the lid of the steamer when making chawanmushi, allowing steam to escape evenly while preventing condensation from dripping into the custard.
The larger format also makes it especially useful for draining vegetables and wrapping foods for steaming, where additional cloth surface area is needed. Care is simple: hand wash with a neutral detergent and dry in the sun.
