Linen Towel Tenugui
Product information
Description
A linen hand towel (tenugui) which is more durable and dries faster than cotton. Okai Mafu’s tenugui is more rigid than cotton, but it is still quite soft to the touch, and quite absorbent, which makes for a great kitchen towel.
Founded in 1863 in Naramachi, Nara Prefecture, Okai Mafu is a fifth-generation, family owned business. In the Edo period, this area was predominately involved with Nara sarashi production. This company is one of just a few that produces using traditional technology from the Edo period.
