Tenugui are traditional Japanese cloths with a variety of uses, such as wrapping bento boxes, carrying water bottles, a drying towel for the kitchen, as well as a decoration piece.
Though they vary in size, the Tateyoko towel is mostly square in shape, measuring at about 50 x 50cm.
Made from 100% cotton, this towel is thinner, more like a gauze, which is soft to the touch. As with all of Hamamonyo's products, this towel is stencil dyed using a traditional method called Nassen, a specialty in Yokohama.
