Hasegawa Home-Use Soft Cutting Board Wood Core
Hasegawa Home-Use Soft Cutting Board Wood Core
From a series of lightweight, synthetic cutting boards called "Karugaru," or lightweight, the Hasegawa Home-Use Cutting Board is both lightweight and has a soft cutting surface, ensuring your knife remains sharp for longer period of time. The surface of the Home-Use board features a natural tan color, as well as a grippy texture, preventing ingredients from sliding around.
This cutting board features a sturdy wood core, surrounded by synthetic rubber. This achieves two important things, the overall weight is kept low, as the wood core is much lighter than the rubber. And this ensures the cutting board stays flat and doesn't warp, as the wood is dense and rigid.
Hasegawa cutting boards are antibacterial too, as the entire surface is non-absorbent. The cutting boards dry quickly, so bacteria is less likely to remain.
Hasegawa is based in Chiba Prefecture and have been operating since 1955. They provide a wide-range of products, some of which cater to Japanese professional kitchens.

It is recommended to hand wash only, as this is the best way to prevent any warping. Additionally, hot water is a good disinfectant, but avoid using boiling water, as it may warp the surface. Likewise, a bleach solution is recommended to sanitize, but avoid soaking the cutting board in bleach for extended periods of time.
