Tenugui & Sarashi Towels

Tenugui is a traditional Japanese cloth with a variety of uses, such as wrapping bento boxes, carrying water bottles, a drying towel for the kitchen, as well as a decoration piece.

A sarashi is a bleached white towel or cloth that has a wide variety of uses in Japan. A kitchen sarashi is a towel used to keep your workspace sanitary and tidy. You may notice sushi chefs with a sarashi on the cutting board, as it is used to sanitize the work surface. This is especially important when working with raw ingredients. But the uses for a sarashi go beyond this, as the home cook will find these towels indispensable for drying blanched vegetables, washed parsley and cilantro and so much more.
