Introducing a carbon steel cookware line from Tanabe Kanagu, with an octagonal, wood handle. The iron is nitrided (infused with nitrogen) which prevents rust and scratches, as well as strengthens the durability of the iron. The wood handle is robust and provides a stable grip for a variety of uses. The look and feel of these pans is truly unique.
The 24cm Fry Pan is excellent for a wide range of uses, including sautéing and frying, as it's a great medium size pan that's excellent for average sized portions. A medium sized steak will fit this pan well.
Overall, I love carbon steel pans for their heat retention, as they stay hot when you add ingredients, making it easier and quicker to get what you need done. But I especially love this line of pans because they heat up quick, are much less prone to rust, but I really love the wood handle and the overall look of the pan. These pans are made in Tsubame City, in Niigata Prefecture. The region is famous for its quality steel production. The stamp of "Made in Tsubame" is a sure sign of quality.
