Product information

Description

Handmade by artisans in Mie Prefecture, using the mineral rich and highly heat resistant Iga clay, Tojiki Tonya's Rice Donabe features a thick base, which ensures evenly cooked, fluffy rice with a characteristic sheen.

With a 3 cup capacity for making delicious rice, the size and shape of this donabe also works great for soups, sukiyaki, shabu shabu, nimono, nabeyaki udon and much more.

Donabe is an earthenware pot made of clay with a wide variety of uses. Iga yaki refers to earthenware produced in Iga, and Mie Prefecture generally. This region is renowned for its heat resistant clay, which is porous and rich with minerals.
